As promised earlier, LeEco has started to roll out its EUI 5.8 firmware (Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow) OTA update to LeEco Le 2 in India. The update brings several new features and changes (over 340) to the device. The over-the-air (OTA) incremental update will take few days to reach on all devices. If you cannot wait for the OTA, you can download the full EUI 5.8.015S OTA file and flash it manually.
Below is the manual installation guide for LeEco EUI 5.8 (Android 6.0.1) OTA update on LeEco Le 2. This new update you device from firmware version EUI 5.6.013S to firmware version EUI 5.8.015S. Tech-savvy users can easily install the update manually on their device, but Le2 must be on stock ROM and stock recovery.
LeEco EUI 5.8 update brings features, such as Immersive VR Interface, Remote Assistance, Fingerprint App Lock, International Roaming, Wallet app, New Camera features, updated music player, better battery life and obviously Android 6.0 Marshmallow.
How to Install LeEco EUI 5.8 OTA Update on Le 2 Manually
1. Download EUI 5.8 ROM zip file to your PC from here (1.7GB) and rename it as update.zip.
2. Transfer the update.zip file to the root of internal memory (not in any folder)
3. Now, on your phone, start System Update > Menu > Local Update and confirm the installation of the new update.
Note: The Android 6.0 Marshmallow update for other Le devices, such as LeEco Max, LeEco 1s, etc are not confirmed yet. When it became available we will update post. Stay tuned!
